The core of the experience at Coorie Café in Edinburgh is the ceremony of brewing and drinking tea. To create the branding we drew inspiration from the elegance of Japanese art and the serene atmosphere of traditional tea ceremonies. Crafting a cohesive visual identity, We designed the branding to reflect this tranquil aesthetic throughout the café.

Along with the owners we created a brand manifesto, a poem reflecting the welcome and openness Coorie want to show to all who visit.

Each element of the branding, from the illustrations to the posters designed to be hung on the café walls, harmoniously blended Japanese motifs with contemporary design, creating a welcoming and serene ambiance.

For this work I create in the style that I feel in that moment, adapting my approach to suit the feeling I’m creating. When I’m out dancing, I’m most likely wearing a shirt I designed myself.

ClydeBuilt

I created an ethical clothing brand ClydeBuilt as a passion project, designing and printing t-shirts. It developed into a way to design, create and connect that culminated in a collaborative exhibition and a series of parties in Glasgow.

I designed the brand to feel like Glasgow and to look right at home in the Subby. I created every element and touch-point. I designed the branding, printed the shirts, built the website, directed the photo shoots and designed the social media and marketing campaigns.
Both lines I released sold out.

For Project Petrichor, our branding design project was an ode to nature’s healing embrace. Drawing inspiration from the serene landscapes of Scotland, we crafted a hand-drawn logo evoking the essence of tranquillity and self-discovery. This bespoke emblem reflects the company’s mission of providing personalized retreats aimed at reconnecting individuals with their inner selves amidst the beauty of nature.

The hand-drawn logo serves as the heart of Project Petrichor’s branding, symbolizing authenticity and individuality. Applied to clothing, tents, and camping gear, it transforms everyday essentials into tokens of adventure and introspection. Whether embarking on a wilderness retreat or simply embracing the outdoors, Project Petrichor’s branding acts as a guiding beacon, inviting individuals to immerse themselves fully in the transformative journey of self-discovery amidst Scotland’s breathtaking landscapes.

For Slicehouse’s branding, I delved into the realms of punk and skate culture. The dynamic illustrations became the heart of Slicehouse’s identity, adorning everything from their pizza boxes to the store front itself. Bold, edgy and unmistakably cool, the illustrations transformed the mundane into the extraordinary, infusing each slice with a taste of rebellion.

But the creative journey didn’t stop there. We elevated Slicehouse’s presence with a custom neon light, radiating the brand’s attitude to passers-by. This luminescent beacon became a symbol of their ethos, beckoning adventurous souls to step inside and experience more than just pizza – an entire lifestyle captured in a single slice.
