A cosy brand for a community café
visual identity – logo
The core of the experience at Coorie Café in Edinburgh is the ceremony of brewing and drinking tea. To create the branding I drew inspiration from the elegance of Japanese art and the serene atmosphere of traditional tea ceremonies. Crafting a cohesive visual identity, I designed the branding to reflect this tranquil aesthetic throughout the café.

Along with the owners I wrote a brand manifesto, a poem reflecting the welcome and openness Coorie want to show to all who visit.

Coorie is a space for us, for the people who care.
For the folks of Edinburgh who want to feel a part of something.
The ones who need a break in the day, the parents with their weans and the dog walkers in from the rain.
When you’re here you’re one of us.
And who’s us? The folks who take a minute… to enjoy the cosiness of a moment.
A moment with friends, in the embrace of love or in the company of a good book.
All are welcome!
