Creating A Cosy Brand For A Community Café
Coorie is the Scottish answer to Hygge, a lifestyle concept that invites you to snuggle in and enjoy the simple pleasures of life.
We were asked to create a friendly and inclusive brand for a community café in Edinburgh offering artisanal hot chocolate, gelato and yummy pastries from Poland.
The brand should feel cosy with a sense of wonder, inviting the passing locals to join in and relax from their daily responsibilities. The brand is designed in a style where imperfections are home to nurture creativity and beauty.
To create a youthful and friendly vibe, we incorporated a bold typography with soft and fun accents. Bold lines, bold shapes and a simple colour palette can make the brand identifiable, with pops of accent colour with the blue being a main feature.
Overall, the key is to create a brand identity that makes people, on first glance, curious to discover more and, as they come to know the café, make them feel welcome and included.
